Fatal Crash in Spring Branch Central: Passenger Falls from Moving Truck

Houston police are currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 9300 Greensward Road in the Spring Branch Central area around 5:10 p.m. last Friday, February 2.

The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Omar Abu Dayyeh.

The incident involved a red Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 38-year-old male, traveling westbound near the mentioned address. At some point during the journey, Mr. Omar Abu Dayyeh, who was seated in the rear of the pickup truck, opened the door while the vehicle was in motion. Abu Dayyeh fell from the truck, hitting the ground.

The driver promptly stopped the vehicle and checked on the passenger. A witness at the scene called 9-1-1 for assistance. Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced Abu Dayyeh deceased.

The driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene and was found not to be impaired. He cooperated with authorities, was questioned, and subsequently released. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
