Houston Man and Woman Arrested for Mail Theft in Spring

In the late hours of February 2, 2024, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 2 Patrol Division received a call reporting a theft in progress at the 2300 Block of Legends Gate Drive in Spring, Texas. The caller reported witnessing two individuals stealing mail and fleeing the scene in a Lincoln Town Car.

Promptly responding to the call, deputies successfully located the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.

Upon inspection, the two suspects were identified as 40-year-old Christopher McCaffrey and 33-year-old Maygain Leija, both from Houston, Texas. A search of the vehicle revealed mail taken from 19 different addresses in the surrounding area.

In response to the findings, McCaffrey and Leija were taken into custody on charges of felony theft of mail and subsequently booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
