Hit-and-Run Incident Leaves Man Dead on Blackpool Lane
On March 6, 2024, at around 5:50 AM, Julio Cesar Mejia Espinales was discovered lying in the roadway outside a residence in the 19200 block of Blackpool Lane, showing no signs of life.
Initial investigations revealed video footage capturing part of the incident. The footage depicted a black Ford F150 traveling eastbound in front of a residence in the same block, then turning southbound to exit the duplex-style neighborhood, disappearing from view. Shortly after, the Ford was observed reversing northbound, stopping briefly before proceeding eastbound past the residence once more. As the Ford passed by, it halted, and a Hispanic male exited the vehicle and approached Mejia Espinales lying in the roadway. The male then returned to the Ford and fled the scene without providing assistance or identification.
