Harris County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public Assistance in Murder Investigation

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Homicide investigators are urging the public to come forward with any information regarding the murder of a local man.

On Saturday, November 18, 2023, at around 10:30 p.m., patrol deputies from the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office responded to reports of a shooting at the Cashel Springs Apartments, situated at 14222 Wunderlich in north Harris County.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered 20-year-old Malachi Lopez, who had sustained a gunshot wound. Lopez was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, the following morning, Lopez was pronounced deceased.

At the time of the incident, no information about a suspect was available. The HCSO Homicide Unit was subsequently contacted, and investigators took charge of the case.

As of now, investigators have been unable to ascertain a motive for the shooting, and no witnesses to the incident have been identified.
