On Monday, January 1, 2024, at around 5:58 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) responded to a tragic incident in the 6600 Block of North Interstate Highway 35 SB. The incident involved a collision between an SUV and a pedestrian. Regrettably, the pedestrian succumbed to injuries at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the crash site, demonstrating cooperation with the ongoing investigation. There were no indications of intoxication on the part of the driver.
