Fatal Crash on HOV Lanes of Katy Freeway Claims Life of 25-Year-Old Woman

On November 21, a 25-year-old woman lost her life following a crash at 14800 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) in Houston. The woman, who was driving a white Hyundai Sonata, made an unsafe lane change and collided with a white and blue tractor-trailer truck. Both vehicles came to a stop in the freeway HOV lanes.

Emergency services quickly responded to the scene, transporting the critically injured woman to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. Despite medical efforts, she was pronounced deceased on November 24.

The identity of the deceased woman is awaiting verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The 61-year-old male driver of the tractor-trailer truck, who remained at the scene, was found not to be impaired. He cooperated with authorities, was questioned, and subsequently released.

The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
