Drunk Driver Crashes into Deputy’s Vehicle, Arrested with Drugs and Loaded Firearm

On April 12, 2024, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s office were dispatched to the 13200 block of Kuykendahl Road following reports of a disturbance. While en route, a driver collided with a Constable Deputy’s vehicle, resulting in significant damage. The driver, identified as 23-year-old Jamar Shaw, exhibited signs of intoxication.
Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted, confirming Shaw’s state of intoxication. Upon further inspection, authorities discovered 1.2 grams of Heroin, Xanax pills, and a loaded firearm in Shaw’s possession.
Jamar Shaw was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. He faces charges including Possession of a Controlled Substance, Driving While Intoxicated, and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon. Shaw’s bond was set at $2,200.00 by County Court 9 and the 183rd District Court.
