Dominoes Game Turns Deadly in Beaumont

A dispute during a dominoes game turned fatal early Tuesday morning, leading to the arrest of a 30-year-old man for murder.
On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at approximately 1:05 a.m., Beaumont Police officers responded to a call reporting shots fired at a residence in the 1400 block of Prairie. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Based on witness statements and rapid investigative efforts, officers identified and apprehended 30-year-old Travon Alexander in connection with the shooting.
Preliminary findings suggest that the incident originated from a disturbance that occurred during a game of dominoes, which escalated to Alexander allegedly shooting the victim. The deceased has been identified as 33-year-old Joel Jenkins.
Alexander was taken to the Beaumont Police Department for questioning by detectives before being booked into the Jefferson County Jail on a charge of Murder.
