CLEAR Alert Leads to Safe Recovery of Kidnapped Woman; Suspect Arrested

A CLEAR Alert issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety helped Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies locate and safely recover Anna Nunez, who was allegedly kidnapped by her boyfriend, David Garcia. Garcia has been arrested.

On March 27, 2025, MCSO deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on Crystal Creek in Conroe, where witnesses reported Garcia assaulting Nunez, forcibly removing her from the home, and fleeing in a bright green Volkswagen Beetle.

Deputies located the vehicle but lost contact during a pursuit in a construction zone. Due to the circumstances, a CLEAR Alert was activated to aid in the search.

Further investigation by MCSO deputies and detectives from the Major Crimes Unit led to the safe recovery of Nunez and the arrest of Garcia at a hotel in Conroe. Nunez was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

Garcia has been charged with Kidnapping, Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle, and Assault Causing Bodily Injury (Family Violence).

Sheriff Doolittle praised the collaborative effort of multiple agencies, including the Conroe Police Department, Montgomery County Constables Precincts 1 and 2, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Montgomery County Hospital District, for their swift actions and dedication in ensuring the victim’s safety and apprehending the suspect.

The original alert described Garcia as armed and dangerous and instructed the public not to approach him or the vehicle but to call 911 immediately if sighted.   Sources and related content
