Charges Filed Against Suspect in Assault on 34th Street
Charges have been filed against a suspect in connection with an assault that occurred on Wednesday, August 31, at approximately 2:55 p.m. on 4000 West 34th Street.
The suspect, identified as Andrei Silviu Niculusca, 47, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 228th State District Court. A booking photo of Niculusca has been attached to this news release.
The victim, a 28-year-old male, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition following the incident.
According to Houston Police Department Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective J. Kimbrough, the victim and Niculusca engaged in a verbal altercation in a nearby parking lot. Subsequently, the victim left the scene in his vehicle, with Niculusca following closely in his white Ford F-150 pickup truck. At a certain point, Niculusca, traveling at a high rate of speed, collided with the victim’s vehicle, causing the victim to lose control and strike a utility pole.
Paramedics swiftly responded to the scene, and the victim was subsequently transported via Life Flight helicopter to a local hospital. Niculusca was detained at the scene by law enforcement officers.
Following consultations with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, charges were filed against Niculusca for his involvement in the incident. The case will be heard in the 228th State District Court.
