A suspect charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on June 18 at 7250 Avenue C is now in custody. Anthony Campos Galvan Jr., aged 29, faces charges of murder in the 263rd State District Court in relation to the incident, which claimed the life of Nestor Saldana, 30.

Houston Police Department Homicide Division Detectives D. Davis and D. Lunceford provided details of the case. On the night of the incident, HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex on Avenue C. Upon arrival, they discovered Mr. Saldana suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts by Houston Fire Department paramedics, Saldana was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed that an argument within the complex’s pool area had escalated, leading to the tragic shooting.

Subsequent investigation efforts by authorities identified Anthony Campos Galvan Jr. as the prime suspect in the case. He was formally charged on July 12 in connection with the murder.

Detectives, working diligently, eventually located Campos Galvan Jr. and took him into custody on August 26 in Brownsville, Texas. He was subsequently transported to the Cameron County Jail, where he is presently awaiting extradition back to Harris County to face the murder charges.
