Brazoria County Narcotics Task Force Makes Significant Drug Bust in Freeport

On January 11, 2024, the Brazoria County Narcotics Task Force (BCNTF) joined forces with the Freeport Police Department to carry out a carefully planned search warrant in the 1000 Block of West Second Street in Freeport, Brazoria County, Texas. The operation, the result of a month-long investigation, aimed to combat illicit drug activities in the region.

At approximately 3:00 pm, without incident, law enforcement successfully entered the premises. The primary focus of the investigation was 55-year-old Terryl Shawn Richard from Clute, TX. Mr. Richard now faces multiple charges related to the possession and distribution of controlled substances.

The charges against Terryl Shawn Richard include:

  • Manufacture/Delivery CS PG1-B >-=200G<400G
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 <1G
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 3 <28G
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 3 <28G

Narcotics recovered from the scene include:

  • Fentanyl, greater than 300 grams
  • Xanax (Alprazolam)
  • Oxycodone
  • Carisoprodol (Soma)

In addition to the narcotics, law enforcement discovered and seized three firearms during the execution of the search warrant, one of which was reported stolen by the Lake Jackson Police Department. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is $6,500.

Terryl Shawn Richard is currently in custody, and additional charges may be pending as the investigation progresses. His total bond is set at $725,000.
