Bexar County Man Sentenced to 40 Years for Human Trafficking and Child Porn Possession

Garrett Andrew Bailey, 36, was sentenced to 40 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on June 6, 2024 by 437th District Court Judge Joel Pérez. Bailey pleaded guilty to charges of human trafficking and possession of child pornography instead of going to trial.

Bailey and a 38-year-old woman were indicted for these crimes. The case began when Live Oak Police, informed by Comal County investigators, discovered that a child’s mother had sent sexually explicit photos of her young child to several partners, including Bailey. Bailey’s phone was found to contain multiple images of young children in sexual situations. Due to his involvement, Bailey was charged with trafficking a child for sex and possession of child pornography.

Assistant Criminal District Attorneys David Lunan and Meghan Galloway from the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case. Bailey will have to serve at least half of his sentence before being eligible for parole.

Bexar County Criminal District Attorney Joe Gonzales stated, “Trafficking underage children and possessing child pornography are among the most despicable crimes I know of in our society. My thanks to the prosecution team for their work. I’m proud to say that our office will always stand up to protect our children.”
