Austin Police Seeks Help to Identify Attempted Sexual Assault Suspect

The Austin Police Department (APD) Sex Crimes Unit is seeking assistance from the public to identify a suspect involved in an attempted sexual assault that occurred on Saturday, February 8, 2025. At approximately 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a call in the 6900 block of FM 969 Road, where a female victim reported that a male suspect grabbed her in a sexual manner before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a Black male, possibly in his 20s, standing between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium to heavy build weighing around 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and black pants.

APD has released a composite sketch of the suspect and urges anyone with information to contact the APD Sex Crimes Unit at 512-974-5095. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
