Austin Man Convicted of Capital Murder, Receives Life Sentence Without Parole
Eric Rollins was convicted of Capital Murder of Multiple Persons by a Travis County jury on February 12, 2024. He received a life sentence without parole, to be served in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, on the same day.
Rollins faced charges for the deaths of two individuals on April 28, 2022, and was promptly arrested. Jury selection commenced on February 5, 2024, culminating in a guilty verdict for Capital Murder on February 12, 2024.
The trial was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Jean Sullivan, Dominic Selvera, and Willa Cockshutt, with support from TCDA Investigator Jesse Hernandez, Paralegal Cecilee Walker, Victim Witness Counselors Raquel Pompey and Terrance Greene, and Legal Secretary Ana-Laura Mojica. The Austin Police Department, led by Sargeant Tim Price and Corporal Jason Ayers, conducted the investigation.
Travis County District Attorney José Garza expressed gratitude to the dedicated staff and law enforcement partners for their relentless efforts in seeking justice for the victims’ families. He hoped the verdict would bring closure and peace to those affected.
