Travis County Jury Convicts Individual of Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon

On Wednesday, February 7, William Rolando Rivera was convicted by a Travis County jury of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a Second Degree Felony. The jury sentenced Mr. Rivera to 7 years in the Texas Department of Corrections, to be probated for three years.

The prosecution team, led by Assistant District Attorneys Jason Rew-Hunter and Cindy Izquierdo, along with the support of TCDA Investigator Mike Henderson, Victim Witness Counselor Larissa Youngblood, Paralegal Raquel Sanchez, and Legal Secretary Chardell Clark, presented the case against Mr. Rivera. The investigation was carried out by Travis County Sheriff Office Detective Steven Jackley.

Travis County District Attorney José Garza expressed gratitude to the dedicated staff and law enforcement partners for their tireless efforts in ensuring accountability for the defendant and seeking justice for the victim’s family. “We hope this verdict brings closure and peace to the victim’s family,” stated District Attorney Garza.
