Home Healthcare Provider Arrested for Assault on Disabled Person in The Woodlands

In The Woodlands, Montgomery County, on May 28, 2024, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 6 responded to a call regarding an Injury to a Disabled Person on Hopvine Court. Upon arrival, deputies conversed with the victim’s mother, who alleged that her son’s Home Healthcare provider had inflicted physical harm on him.

Following an investigation by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Detectives, it was confirmed that the suspect, identified as 51-year-old Ruben Cano from Conroe, Texas, had assaulted the victim days earlier. Consequently, a warrant was issued for Cano’s arrest. He was located at his residence the same day and taken into custody for Injury to a Disabled Person, a third-degree felony.
