Houston Man Arrested for Assault on 21-Year-Old Woman: Multiple Charges Filed
On May 24, 2024, Jose Angel Patino, a resident of Houston, allegedly assaulted a 21-year-old woman in Houston, resulting in her needing hospital treatment for her injuries.
The Friendswood Police Department received a distress call from two women who encountered the injured woman seeking help. Subsequent investigation revealed that Patino, who was known to drive a black Jeep SUV and was staying in the area, was the suspect in the assault. Police spotted a black Jeep SUV matching the description and attempted to stop it, but the vehicle fled. It was later found abandoned but still running in the 16800 block of Hibiscus Lane, with evidence suggesting it had been stolen and contained multiple license plates.
Further information indicated that Patino had been in the vicinity. However, he eluded initial arrest attempts, aided by family members impeding law enforcement.
On May 29, 2024, Friendswood Police, in collaboration with the US Marshal Violent Offenders Task Force, apprehended Patino on outstanding warrants. He was found in the 6100 block of Longleaf Drive in Northwest Houston. Upon police arrival, Patino attempted to escape on foot but was apprehended by a K9 officer. He was then taken to HCA Clear Lake for treatment of his injuries before being booked into the Friendswood jail.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has accepted the charge of Continuous Violence Against the Family against Patino. He had multiple active warrants, including Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon, Aggravated Assault of a Family Member, and Continuous Violence Against the Family.
