Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting on Glenhurst Drive in South Park Area

Randy Anthony Barnes, 61, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the fatal shooting of Willy Johnson, 55, at 6146 Glenhurst Drive in the South Park area on March 8, 2024.

Houston Police Department officers responded to a shooting report at the mentioned address where they found Mr. Johnson unresponsive in a driveway, having sustained a gunshot wound. Despite efforts by Houston Fire Department paramedics, Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Following an investigation, Barnes was identified as the suspect. Members of the HPD Southeast Division Crime Suppression Team apprehended Barnes on Thursday, March 14, and subsequently charged him with murder in the 339th State District Court.
