Teen Charged with Murder in Fatal Shooting of 16-Year-Old in Montgomery County

CONROE, Texas. – A 17-year-old has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Montgomery County, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded at approximately 5:13 a.m. on July 9 after receiving two separate 911 calls reporting that a 16-year-old male had been found suffering from a gunshot wound in the 16800 block of Northern Flicker Trail.

The victim was identified as 16-year-old Alexander Guevara.

Following an investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and in consultation with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, detectives charged 17-year-old Messiah Archuleta with murder on July 10.

Authorities said the charge resulted from an extensive follow-up investigation into Guevara’s death.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Investigators said there is no current threat to the public.
