Houston Fatal Shooting at 400 Greens Road Headed to Grand Jury

A fatal shooting at an apartment complex at 400 Greens Road in Houston will go to a Harris County Grand Jury, Houston police said. The shooting happened about 9 p.m. Thursday, October 29.
The dead man is believed to be in his 20s. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences has not yet notified his family, and police have not released his name.
What officers found
Patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the apartment complex parking lot. They found a man with apparent gunshot wounds inside a vehicle that had hit a tree.
Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Two people interviewed
HPD Homicide Division Detectives I. Barrett and A. Beiza said the preliminary investigation identified two persons of interest. Homicide investigators interviewed both and consulted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
Investigators then decided to refer the shooting to a Harris County Grand Jury. Police did not say whether anyone has been charged. They also did not describe what led to the gunfire or release details about the two people interviewed.
A grand jury referral means a panel of residents will review the evidence and decide whether to issue charges. Police have not said when that review will take place.
