Wrong-Way Driver Suspected of DWI After Head-On Crash in Northwest Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A suspected intoxicated wrong-way driver and three other people, including two juveniles, were hospitalized following a head-on crash Thursday night in northwest Harris County.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 9:49 p.m. on July 2 in the 30600 block of Farm to Market 2920 Road.

Investigators said Victoria Segura was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado westbound with two juvenile passengers when she encountered a 2017 Nissan Maxima traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes.

Segura told investigators the Nissan, driven by Dylan Bustos, was traveling the wrong way and was not attempting to pass another vehicle.

According to investigators, Segura steered into the eastbound lanes in an attempt to avoid a collision. At the last moment, Bustos allegedly swerved back into the eastbound lane, causing the vehicles to collide head-on.

All occupants of both vehicles were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital-Katy for treatment.

Investigators said Segura cooperated with deputies and showed no signs of intoxication.

During the investigation, deputies determined Bustos was intoxicated by alcohol.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division continues to investigate the crash.

No criminal charges have been announced at this time.
