Man Arrested After Opening Fire on Truck Following Traffic Crash in Houston

HOUSTON, Texas — A 23-year-old man was arrested Tuesday, November 3, 2026, after authorities say he became enraged following a traffic accident in north Houston, pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots at the other vehicle involved in the crash.
Mason Burke, 23, faces a felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following the incident in the 400 block of North Sam Houston Parkway.
Deputies with Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the location after receiving a report of a weapons disturbance involving a vehicle crash.
According to investigators, Burke became irate following the collision and produced a firearm.
He then allegedly fired multiple rounds, striking the other vehicle involved in the accident.
Deputies investigated the shooting and arrested Burke at the scene.
Burke was booked into the Harris County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
His bond had not been set as of the department’s announcement, with the case assigned to the 185th District Court.
Constable Mark Herman condemned the use of a firearm during a traffic dispute.
“Disagreements on our roadways should never escalate into violence. Reckless actions involving firearms put innocent lives at risk, and those responsible will be held accountable,” Herman said.
