Magnolia Man Charged With Murder After Fatal Shooting at League City Apartment Complex

LEAGUE CITY, Texas — A Magnolia man has been charged with murder following the fatal shooting of a woman Monday afternoon at a League City apartment complex, according to the League City Police Department.

Officers responded at approximately 2:25 p.m. on June 29 to a reported shooting in the parking lot of Harbor Walk Apartments, located at 2751 East FM 518.

When officers and League City Fire Department personnel arrived, they found a 37-year-old woman dead inside a Toyota Corolla. Investigators said the victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers secured the scene while detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division interviewed witnesses, processed evidence, and gathered information.

During the investigation, detectives identified 38-year-old Isaiah Johnson of Magnolia as a person of interest and determined he had fled the area in a Hyundai Santa Fe.

Law enforcement agencies across the region were quickly notified with information about Johnson and the vehicle.

A short time later, the Galveston Police Department informed League City detectives that Johnson had arrived at its police station and surrendered without incident.

At approximately 11 p.m. on June 29, League City detectives obtained a murder charge against Johnson, which was accepted by the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office.

Johnson remains in custody as the investigation continues.
