Driver Dies After Suspected Medical Emergency Leads to Crash Near Crosby

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A driver is believed to have suffered a medical emergency before crashing into a guardrail Sunday night near Crosby, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division are investigating the fatal crash, which occurred at approximately 11:31 p.m. on June 28 in the 3500 block of U.S. Highway 90.
According to the preliminary investigation, Antonious Burton was driving a gray 2017 Ford Fusion westbound in the right lane when he may have experienced a medical emergency.
Investigators said Burton failed to maintain a single lane, causing the vehicle to drift onto the outside shoulder while traveling northwest.
The Ford continued along the shoulder before its front right quarter struck a guardrail, bringing the vehicle to an uncontrolled stop.
Crosby EMS Medic 6 responded to the scene and found Burton with no signs of life. He was pronounced dead at approximately 11:42 p.m.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is continuing to investigate the incident.
