Texas Railroad Commission Hosts Argentine Business Delegation for Energy Policy Discussions

AUSTIN, Texas – Railroad Commission of Texas welcomed members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Argentina to its Austin headquarters on May 19 for discussions focused on energy regulation and Texas’ role in the global energy industry.

According to the commission, members of AmCham Argentina met with Railroad Commission subject matter experts for presentations and discussions about the agency’s regulatory responsibilities and oversight of the Texas energy sector.

Christi Craddick opened the meeting with remarks highlighting the importance of international engagement and the commission’s role in energy development.

“We are honored to welcome back AmCham Argentina members to Texas, and to engage with them in thoughtful dialogue on energy policy,” Craddick said. “The RRC remains a key player in maintaining Texas’ position as a global leader in responsible energy development, and discussions like these strengthen our efforts.”

During the visit, representatives discussed topics including Texas’ regulatory framework, operational safety, pipeline infrastructure, and produced water management.

The commission said this was the second meeting between the Railroad Commission and an AmCham Argentina delegation in less than a year. In June 2025, more than 30 Argentine lawmakers, government officials, industry executives, and municipal leaders visited the commission as part of a broader tour of Texas energy operations.

The Railroad Commission also noted that it has recently hosted Pierre Poilievre and representatives from major Canadian pension funds and banks interested in Texas energy development.
