Multi-Vehicle Crash on Southwest Freeway Sends Three to Hospital

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A three-vehicle crash on the Southwest Freeway sent multiple people to the hospital Wednesday, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said the crash occurred May 6 in the 16400 block of the Southwest Freeway.

Authorities reported that Kenton Jackson was driving a white 2021 Hyundai Sonata westbound when Rafael Teran, driving a 2017 Honda Civic, failed to control his speed and struck the rear left side of Jackson’s vehicle. The impact disabled both vehicles, leaving Teran’s car stopped in a moving lane.

A third driver, Alyssa Anderson, operating a silver 2019 Nissan Sentra with two passengers, then struck the rear of Teran’s disabled vehicle.

Officials said Anderson and passenger I-Nesha Derouen were transported to HCA Houston Northwest by Cy-Fair EMS. Another passenger, Aemani Brown, was airlifted by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Downtown.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the crash.
