Suspect Arrested in Downtown Houston Stabbing Robbery, Police Say
Orville E Jr Rodgers

HOUSTON, Texas — A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a stabbing during a robbery earlier this month in downtown Houston, according to police.

Orville E. Jr. Rodgers is charged with aggravated robbery in the 248th State District Court.

The charge stems from an incident that occurred around 4 p.m. April 4, 2026, in the 300 block of Travis Street.

According to investigators, the victim was standing outside when Rodgers approached and asked for money. When the victim refused, Rodgers initially walked away but returned shortly after and rushed the victim from behind.

Police said Rodgers attacked the victim while stating he intended to take the victim’s chain. During the assault, he stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene on foot.

A Houston Police robbery detective later identified Rodgers as a suspect, and charges were filed April 10, along with a warrant for his arrest.

On April 16, Metro Police officers responded to the downtown Transit Center METRORail platform at 1800 Milam Street regarding a possible aggravated robbery suspect.

Houston police officers responded to assist and took Rodgers into custody.

He was transported to the Harris County Jail and booked on the outstanding aggravated robbery warrant.
