Man Fakes Medical Emergency, Arrested After Struggle with Deputies in Harris County

WEBSTER, Texas — A 43-year-old man with multiple outstanding felony warrants was arrested after fleeing from deputies and resisting arrest, according to Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office.
Deputies observed the suspect commit a pedestrian violation around 3:34 p.m. on March 21, 2026, near the intersection of El Dorado Boulevard and Gatebrook Drive. When deputies attempted to make contact, the man fled on foot across El Dorado Boulevard and ignored commands to stop.
After a brief struggle, deputies detained the suspect, later identified as Patrick Cline. Authorities said Cline had multiple outstanding felony warrants.
Following his arrest, Cline became combative and displayed behavior deputies said was consistent with prior incidents, including feigning a medical emergency. EMS responded and transported him to a local hospital for evaluation.
After being medically cleared, officials said Cline continued to resist, requiring assistance from additional deputies and officers with the Webster Police Department. During transport to the Joint Processing Center, deputies made multiple stops due to ongoing safety concerns related to his behavior.
Once at the jail, Cline was placed in a holding area and later booked without further incident.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has accepted charges of Resisting Arrest and Assault on a Public Servant. No bond has been set at this time.
