Illegal Game Room in Spring Shut Down; Cash and Gambling Devices Seized

SPRING, Texas — Detectives shut down an illegal game room in Spring after an undercover investigation confirmed unlawful gambling activity at a business along Interstate 45.
The Harris County Constable Mark Herman’s Office Criminal Investigations Division received information about illegal gambling at an establishment in the 19300 block of I-45. Detectives launched an undercover operation that verified gambling was taking place inside the business.
Authorities obtained and executed a search warrant at the location. During the operation, detectives seized more than $4,000 in suspected gambling proceeds, numerous illegal gambling devices and documentation supporting illegal gambling activity.
Criminal charges were filed against 53-year-old Maria Marquez-Hernandez for Possession of a Gambling Device/Paraphernalia. Investigators said she has multiple prior arrests related to illegal gambling offenses.
