Woman Arrested After Disrupting El Paso Public Service Board Meeting

EL PASO, Texas – An El Paso woman was arrested after a Public Service Board meeting was repeatedly interrupted by a disruptive attendee who refused to comply with staff and law enforcement directives, officials said.
The incident occurred during a scheduled board meeting when staff informed an attendee that the meeting room had reached capacity and asked her to relocate to a designated overflow area. According to authorities, the individual became argumentative and began raising her voice, repeatedly alleging that the city’s water supply was contaminated and that local businesses were selling unsafe products.
Despite multiple requests to comply and lower her voice, 35-year-old Natasha Cristina Acevedo continued yelling, causing the meeting to be halted. Officers with the El Paso Police Department were called in and escorted Acevedo out of the meeting room.
Police said Acevedo continued shouting while being removed, further preventing the meeting from proceeding. She was taken into custody and charged with disrupting a meeting or procession and resisting arrest, search, or transport.
The meeting resumed after Acevedo was removed. No injuries were reported.
