Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy Shoots Dogs After Vicious Attack in Katy
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed that deputies responded to a horrifying incident on the 3500 block of Doherty Place, near Fry Rd in Katy. Preliminary reports indicate that two dogs attacked two adults.
The initial victim, identified as an 83-year-old male, suffered severe injuries during the attack. Another male, possibly in his 40s, bravely intervened to help the older adult and sustained injuries in the process. The Good Samaritan is currently in fair condition. Both victims were rushed to the hospital, with the 83-year-old man in critical condition.
A responding deputy shot both aggressive dogs, believed to be large pit bulls with unknown owners. The deputy, who took action to protect the victims, also sustained a dog bite injury during the incident. The injured deputy is now in good condition and has been transported to the hospital for treatment.
Sheriff Gonzalez praised the swift response of his deputies, stating, “Deputies did a good job in acting swiftly and preventing the two victims from being completely mauled.”
