Austin Man Arrested in Connection with Homicide Over Stolen Bicycle

AUSTIN, TX – On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 11:21 p.m., Austin Police Department officers responded to a “Shoot/Stab Hotshot” call in the 11900 block of N. IH-35 Service Road (southbound). The call indicated that a victim had been shot in the head, and the suspects had fled the scene. Upon arrival, officers pronounced the victim, an unidentified Hispanic male, deceased at 11:29 p.m.
Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists quickly processed the scene and interviewed witnesses. The investigation revealed that 30-year-old Quavone Easley confronted the victim over a stolen bicycle before shooting him in the head. Easley then fled the scene.
A 1st Degree Murder warrant was issued for Easley, who was later located and arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. Easley is now in custody pending charges.
