Two Arrested in Austin Park Vehicle Burglary Series After Months-Long Investigation

Austin, TX – A months-long investigation into a string of vehicle burglaries at Austin parks led to the arrests of two suspects on Thursday, November 6, according to the Austin Police Department’s North Metro Tactical Unit.

Investigators had previously identified Armynie White and Tyrique Young as suspects connected to the burglary series and related financial crimes.

Arrest of Tyrique Young — APD Case #25-9026403
Police arrested Young after learning he had an active warrant for Credit Card or Debit Card Abuse tied to banking cards stolen from a vehicle at the Bull Creek Trailhead on October 8. Officers located Young and took him into custody without incident. During his arrest, Young was found with a distinctive item reported stolen in a more recent vehicle burglary at Mount Bonnell on November 2. That property was recovered, and additional charges are expected.

Arrest of Armynie White — APD Case #25-3100834
White had been the subject of dozens of Crime Stoppers tips over recent weeks. Officers located her during a traffic stop in the Mueller area, where she gave false identifying information. She was arrested for Failure to Identify as a Fugitive in addition to 17 outstanding warrants from various agencies.

White’s active warrants include:
• Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
• Two counts of Failure to Identify as a Fugitive
• Two counts of Fraud Use or Possession of Personal Identifying Information
• Burglary of a Vehicle
• Credit Card or Debit Card Abuse
• Escape While Arrested
• Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity
• Failure to Appear – Burglary
Additional charges are pending.
