Suspect Charged in Fatal Shooting on Old Spanish Trail

HOUSTON – A man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred at 3900 Old Spanish Trail on July 27.

The suspect, Morris Nickerson, 47, is charged with murder in the 182nd State District Court.

The victim has been identified as Andrea Jacobs, 53.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a shooting call at about 6:35 p.m. and found an unresponsive man in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators determined the victim was involved in a verbal altercation with a suspect before being shot. The suspect fled the area.

Nickerson was arrested on unrelated charges on July 31 and booked into the Harris County Jail. He was charged in the shooting case on August 1.
