Virtual Gate Technology Leads to Arrests in West University Aggravated Robbery

WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TX — Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with an aggravated robbery that occurred on the evening of April 23, 2025, in the 3900 block of Milton Street.
Mark Stephenson and Quintail Baker have each been charged with two counts of Aggravated Robbery. According to the West University Place Police Department, the charges stem from a robbery in which two female victims were targeted.
Investigators identified the suspect vehicle using the city’s Virtual Gate license plate reader system. Through interviews, digital evidence, and cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, detectives were able to link both suspects to the robbery. Stolen property was recovered during the course of the investigation.
The West University Place Police Department acknowledged the assistance of the Brazoria County Constable’s Office Precinct Four, the U.S. Marshals Service, and other partnering agencies.
The case remains under investigation.
