Deputies Investigate Suspected Murder-Suicide Near Georgetown on Memorial Day

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspected murder-suicide that occurred in the early hours of Memorial Day, May 26, 2025.
At approximately 3:00 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a mobile home located at 7275 E State Highway 29, just outside the Georgetown city limits. Upon arrival, they discovered two deceased individuals: 46-year-old Azucena Porcayo, a resident of the home, and her ex-boyfriend, 54-year-old Alejandro Arzate Valdez, of Georgetown.
According to investigators, preliminary evidence suggests the incident began as a domestic dispute. Detectives believe Arzate Valdez fatally shot Porcayo before taking his own life.
“This is a senseless and heartbreaking tragedy,” said Commander John Foster of the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. “We urge anyone experiencing domestic violence to seek help. There are resources available in our community that can provide support and assist with safely exiting an abusive relationship.”
