Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Katy Freeway; Hit-and-Run Under Investigation

Deputies with Constable Terry Allbritton’s Office are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred on Monday, April 28th, on the Katy Freeway westbound in the diamond lanes near Greenhouse Road.

Initial reports indicate that three motorcycles were traveling westbound when two of the drivers lost control. One of the drivers fell from his motorcycle into the general-purpose lanes of the Katy Freeway and was subsequently struck by another vehicle.

Tragically, one of the motorcycle drivers died at the scene. Another motorcycle driver was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. The third motorcycle driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with officers.

Authorities are also investigating a hit-and-run aspect of the incident, as it appears that one of the vehicles that struck the deceased motorcycle driver left the scene without providing information or attempting to render aid.
