League City Police Crack Down on Multi-Million Dollar Auto Theft Ring, Three Arrested

The League City Police Department (LCPD) has arrested three individuals as part of an ongoing investigation into a large-scale vehicle theft ring estimated to be worth over $2 million. Authorities believe additional suspects may be involved.

The investigation began on March 21, 2025, when LCPD received a report of a stolen Chevy Suburban from the 3000 block of S Gulf Freeway, reported by Enterprise-Rent-A-Car. Detectives subsequently discovered that Enterprise has over 40 active stolen vehicle cases across Texas in the past 18 months, primarily involving Chevy and GMC SUVs.

Working with Enterprise’s investigative team, LCPD identified two suspected locations used to process stolen vehicles, one in Brazoria County and another in Fort Bend County. On April 17, 2025, LCPD detectives, in collaboration with the Gulf Coast Auto Crimes Task Force and other law enforcement agencies, executed simultaneous search warrants at both locations.

The operation resulted in the arrest of three individuals (whose identities are currently being withheld) and the recovery of four stolen vehicles, including the Suburban from League City, two from the Houston area, and one from Tennessee.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information or who believes they may be a victim to contact Detective Evans at 281-554-1863.

The League City Police Department expressed gratitude to numerous agencies and Enterprise Rent-A-Car for their assistance in this extensive investigation.
