71-year-old Man Wanted in Shooting of Woman in Greater Inwood Area

Charges have been filed against Tom Reed Jr., 71, in connection with the shooting of a 45-year-old woman at 6430 Lautrec Drive in the Greater Inwood area on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 around 7:50 p.m. Reed faces charges of aggravated assault of a family member in the 178th State District Court.

The victim, who was in a stable condition, was transported to an area hospital after Houston Police Department (HPD) patrol officers responded to a shooting call and found her suffering from a gunshot wound. The incident unfolded during a verbal argument between the victim and the suspect, who were previously in a relationship.

Following the shooting, Reed Jr. fled the scene in an unknown direction. HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division investigated the case, consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, leading to the filing of charges against Reed Jr. for his role in the incident.
