55-Year-Old Man Found Shot to Death Behind Businesses on Veterans Memorial Drive

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A 55-year-old man was found shot to death Sunday evening in an alley behind businesses on Veterans Memorial Drive, and investigators are trying to determine what led to the killing.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at 12403 Veterans Memorial Drive.
Deputies found Jose Bonilla in an alley behind the businesses at the location. He had suffered gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No witnesses to the shooting were located, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Investigators also said the identity of the person who initially called 911 was unknown.
Homicide detectives determined that Bonilla had been inside a game room at the location either shortly before or during the shooting.
Authorities have not identified any suspects, and investigators said the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unknown. The Sheriff’s Office did not release information about a possible motive or describe anyone who may have been involved.
Detectives are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who was at the game room around the time of the shooting.
