Teen Driver Killed in Shooting on Kuykendahl Road in North Houston

HOUSTON – An 18-year-old driver was killed early Sunday after his vehicle was struck multiple times by gunfire before it was found wrecked along Kuykendahl Road in north Houston, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Harris County Precinct 4 constable deputies were dispatched at approximately 2:30 a.m. Sept. 27 to 14081 Kuykendahl Road for what was initially reported as a single-vehicle major crash.
When deputies arrived, they discovered the vehicle had been hit by gunfire multiple times. The driver, later identified as Ericson Pringle, had suffered gunshot wounds and was unresponsive.
Pringle was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit responded to investigate.
Authorities said investigators have not located anyone who witnessed the shooting. The person who initially called 911 reported the incident after finding Pringle’s vehicle wrecked on the shoulder of the road.
Investigators have not determined what led to the shooting or exactly where the gunfire occurred. No information about a possible suspect or suspect vehicle was released.
