Woman Arrested After Four-Year-Old Child Hospitalized with Blunt Force Trauma in Harris County
Tameria Barnett

On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) patrol units responded to Willowbrook Methodist Hospital following an emergency report involving a four-year-old girl, Londyn Anthony, who had been brought to the emergency room with serious injuries. Doctors diagnosed Londyn with blunt force trauma to the head and obvious signs of abuse. Due to the severity of her injuries, the child was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital, where she remains in serious condition.

The HCSO Homicide Unit was called to investigate the case, given the life-threatening nature of the injuries. Investigators learned that Londyn had been under the care of 26-year-old Tameria Barnett since September 2024. Barnett, a friend of the child’s biological mother, has been responsible for the child since her mother’s incarceration. Londyn’s father had not been in contact with her since September.

Through interviews with Barnett and pediatric trauma specialists who treated the child, authorities determined that Barnett was responsible for the child’s injuries. As a result, Barnett was charged with Injury to a Child.

A warrant for Barnett’s arrest was issued, and she was taken into custody by HCSO investigators on November 29, 2024. She was subsequently booked into the Harris County Jail, where she remains. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
