Williamson County Man Sentenced to 50 Years for Meth Trafficking

After a seven-month investigation by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Unit and a week-long trial, a Taylor man was sentenced to 50 years in prison for methamphetamine possession.
Dean Anthony Mojica, 59, of Taylor, was convicted on August 14, 2025, by a Williamson County jury in the 277th District Court, presided over by visiting Judge Rick Kennon. The conviction followed a search of Mojica’s residence on July 27, 2023, which uncovered 10.89 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, small Ziplock bags, two firearms, and stolen property—evidence indicating narcotics distribution.
Mojica’s criminal history includes multiple felony convictions, prior charges for drug delivery, and driving while intoxicated. At the time of his arrest, he was on parole, legally prohibiting him from possessing firearms. Investigators also found evidence he traded stolen property for drugs and offered methamphetamine in exchange for sexual favors. Family violence was also linked to his drug use.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Jason Jorgens and Shelly Strimple. Williamson County District Attorney Shawn Dick said the sentence reflects the county’s commitment to combating drug dealing and the crimes associated with it.
