UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in 2018 Fatal Shooting at Clarke Springs

Houston police have arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of a man at 15810 Clarke Springs on August 15, 2018.

Jeremiah Bryant, 39, is charged with murder in the 180th State District Court. He is in the Harris County Jail.

The victim, Michael Lawson, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Lawson and his son were walking toward a convenience store when a brown or burgundy four-door vehicle approached. Shots were fired from inside the vehicle, striking Lawson. His son was not injured. The vehicle left traveling north on Clarke Springs toward Beltway 8.

Investigators later identified Bryant as the suspect. He was arrested on Thursday, August 21.
