Undercover Sting at Spring Massage Parlor Leads to Promotion of Prostitution Charges

An undercover investigation conducted by Detectives with Constable Precinct 4 Mark Herman’s Office on June 5, 2025, at Essence Massage, located in the 3400 block of FM 2920, has resulted in two arrests related to prostitution. The operation was launched in response to public complaints about the business.

During the investigation, a detective posing as a customer was allegedly solicited for sex and/or sex acts by a female employee. 46-year-old Han Meimei was subsequently charged with Prostitution, with her bond set at $100.00. 52-year-old Yali Tong, identified as the proprietor of the business, was charged with Promotion of Prostitution, with her bond set at $5,000.00.

Constable Herman’s office highlighted that massage parlors can often serve as fronts for various illegal activities, including sex work, money laundering, and human trafficking. They also noted that workers in such establishments can be victims of human trafficking through coercion, fraud, false promises, threats, and debt manipulation.
