Uber Driver Arrested for Sexual Assault in Montgomery County

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Persons Crimes Unit is investigating a reported sexual assault that occurred near Market Street in The Woodlands, Texas.

The suspect has been identified as 56-year-old Janaka Manatunga, from Conroe, TX, who was working as an Uber driver in the area. Manatunga has been arrested and is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a charge of Sexual Assault.

The investigation suggests there may be additional victims who experienced inappropriate sexual contact while using Manatunga’s rideshare services.
