Two Teens Charged in String of West Harris County Drive-By Shootings

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Detectives with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Violent Crimes Division have arrested two teens in connection with a series of drive-by shootings that occurred between April 29 and June 25, 2025, on the west side of Harris County.
Investigators linked a total of ten cases in which suspects fired into homes, many of which were occupied at the time.
On July 7, the HCSO Criminal Investigations Bureau partnered with Special Agents from the Texas Highway Patrol to form a joint task force targeting the suspects.
Following leads and corroborated information, investigators identified two suspects. On July 10, 2025, both individuals were detained during a traffic stop and later charged.
19-year-old Juan Galvez and 18-year-old Josue Umaña-Guzman were each charged with Aggravated Assault.
