Two Teens Apprehended in Connection to El Paso McDonald’s Drive-Through Aggravated Robbery
Early on Saturday, November 25, 2023, authorities responded to an aggravated robbery at the El Paso McDonald’s drive-through located at 14230 Edgemere. Two men had allegedly taken a man’s truck at gunpoint. The stolen vehicle was later found by responding officers at the 3200 block of Emerald Point.
During the incident, 17-year-old Billy Christian Charles was observed running out of the stolen truck and entering a residence on the 14200 block of Honey Point. In response, the El Paso Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and the Crisis Management Team (C.M.T.) were called for assistance. Following attempts to contact Charles, he exited the residence and was taken into custody without further incident.
Later in the day, investigators identified 17-year-old Elijai Koroma as the second individual involved in the armed robbery. Koroma was also apprehended. Both individuals have been charged with Aggravated Robbery, a First-Degree Felony. Magistrate Judge Compton issued a $100,000 bond for Charles and a $75,000 bond for Koroma.
