Two Houston Men Arrested in Cedar Park ‘Jugging’ Robbery

Two Houston men have been arrested in connection with an aggravated robbery that took place in Cedar Park on February 14, 2025.
According to Cedar Park Police, the victim had just left a local bank and returned home when an armed suspect approached, threatened him with a firearm, and demanded cash. The victim complied, and the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
Following an investigation, detectives identified the suspects as 27-year-old Kemond Taylor and 27-year-old Brandon Montgomery, both of Houston. With assistance from the Houston Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety, Taylor was taken into custody in Houston on March 24, and Montgomery was arrested on March 26.
Both suspects have been charged with Aggravated Robbery, a first-degree felony.
Investigators determined the crime was part of a scheme known as “jugging,” in which criminals surveil financial institutions, follow customers who withdraw cash, and then target them for theft, often through vehicle burglaries or violent confrontations.
Cedar Park Police are urging residents to remain aware of their surroundings when conducting cash transactions and to call 911 if they suspect they are being followed.
